I’ve made a list of 10 qualities/things I want in my future husband. I have put a decent amount of time into coming up with this list and have come to the conclusion that this is what truly matters. Sure, having a guy who puts the toilet seat down and cooks supper would be nice but I have come up with this basic list and I believe that as long as these ten things are a match that any relationship can work. All relationships have bumps, highs, and valleys but how you get through those bad times reveals what kind of a person you are and as long as both people have God as their core and center things can be resolved in a godly, loving way.
1.The first thing he needs is a deep love for God and his Creation and put God as first priority in his life. God is the center, the REASON for living. He seeks wisdom and guidance from God and is continuing in his spiritual life. Calls himself a Christian, a born again believer, dedicated to God and obedient to His will for his life and will be the spiritual leader for our family unit.
2. Is kind and respects me. Loves me for who I am and accepts me along with my faults. He has to bring out the good in me and I’m a better person with him.
3. Has the same beliefs, morals, and values as me and we agree on things like how many kids and how to raise them.
4. Is physically attracted to me and vise versa and has eyes ONLY for me. Must connect emotionally with me.
5. Is funny and makes me happy.
6. Will stand up for me. Is proud to call me his wife.
7. Wants to spend lots of time with me and we get along well.
8.Trusts me and we keep no secrets from each other. Open and honest with each other.
9. Gets along with my family (even though they’re crazy) and family is important to him.
10. Will share with me both sorrows and joys. Comfort each other in sad times and celebrate with each other in happy times. Will be my encouragement and rock and I will be his.
I will not settle for anything less than God’s best for me and will patiently wait for his timing and his perfect plan for my life.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not harm you; plans to give you hope and a future”
One day when I get married I want to stand up and publicly declare my love and commitment in God’s presence and know in my heart that it is ordained by God and that I am with the one that he has created to complete me.
And what do I do now? In this time of singleness I want to become the woman a man like this deserves. A godly woman fully dedicated and obedient to God and following His will.
